The District Administration Kupwara today carried out various activities in connection with the fourth consecutive day of Jan Abhiyan for My Town My Pride (MTMP), Phase-2 in Municipal Council Kupwara, Municipal Committee Handwara and Municipal Committee Langate.
At Kupwara, Director General Planning, A H Qadri also Visiting Officer MTMP-2 took a detailed review of developmental works under FC Grants, CAPEX, 14th Finance and MTMP Ist within municipal limits. He also inspected various works along with officers of different departments.
Highlighting the importance of holding My Town My Pride programme, he said that the programme is envisaged for disseminating general awareness about different government schemes and also for holding physical verification of works undertaken in the municipal areas.
The Director General Planning was accompanied by AD Planning Mohd Maqbool, Chairman Municipal Council Kupwara, Reyaz Ahmad Mir and EO MC, Anees Chowdhary and other officers.
Jan Abhiyan and sanitation campaigns were held at Langate and Handwara also. Encroachment drive under the banner My Town My Pride in collaboration with Revenue and Police was held at Handwara.
Meanwhile, awareness was generated regarding the My Town My Pride programme and other schemes being implemented in different markets and areas of Kupwara, Handwara and Langate towns through public address system mounted vehicles.
