Record breaker Gadar 2:  According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Gadar 2, the sequel to his 2001 smash film Gadar, generated Rs 40 crore on its first day in theatres. On day one, the film had an overall occupancy of more over 60%, with night screenings accounting for an astounding 86%.

This is a greater occupancy than Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan had on its first day, although Pathaan still maintains the record for the greatest Bollywood launch of all time, at Rs 55 crore. However, Gadar 2 outperformed Prabhas’ big-budget mythological epic Adipurush, which opened with Rs 32 crore.

Despite having to battle with Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2,’ Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ ended up being 2023’s second greatest opening weekend grosser, trailing only Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathan.’

This strong start not only promises a solid weekend at the box office, but also suggests a possible great performance in the coming days.

Salman Khan then praised the entire ‘Gadar 2’ team on their successful premiere.

The story of ‘Gadar 2’ revolves around the violent Crush India Movement in 1971. The first film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was released twenty-two years ago, set a new benchmark. Critics believe that the sequel, which also stars Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel, will take viewers on an incredible journey.
