Panipat Police Dismantles Interstate Fraud Gang Defrauding Thousands in Fake Franchise Scheme

Panipat’s Cyber Crime Police Station has successfully dismantled a criminal gang engaged in interstate fraud through fraudulent franchise schemes on fake websites.

Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapoor confirmed the arrest of four individuals involved in the online fraud operation, which targeted 4575 victims across various states and union territories.

The deceptive scheme amassed a staggering Rs 15 crore 83 lakh 22 thousand 679 from unsuspecting victims. Nationwide, a total of 179 cases and 4396 complaints have been registered against the accused, with 10 cases and 210 complaints in Haryana alone.

The investigation was initiated based on a complaint filed by Yash Garg, revealing the intricate web of fraudulent activities and leading to the seizure of incriminating evidence during raids. The arrested individuals now face legal consequences for their orchestrated online fraud.
