Councilor Tai Suru attends sheep show-cum-awareness camp at Pani khar

Councilor LAHDC, Kargil for Tai Suru Constituency, Aga Syed Abass Rizvi on Tuesday attended a sheep show-cum-awareness camp at Choskore Biama, Panikhar organized by the District Sheep Husbandry Department under National Livestock Mission (NLM).

On the occasion, he thanked the department for organizing such a camp at Panikhar village. The Councilor highlighted the Subsidy Component of LAHDC, Kargil and also assured to issue shelter shed for the public if needed. He urged the villagers for submission of list for cattle feed which can be included in the Subsidy Component of the upcoming Financial Year.

Rizvi also asked the villagers for requisition of the requirement of sheep goat unit on community basis. He urged the department to organize such events in the coming days.

Officer Incharge, Pashmina Goat Farm Khangral, Dr Niyaz Lone, Block Veterinary Officer, Sankoo, Dr Fida Hussain, Manager Karakul, Sheep Farm, Khumbuthang, Dr Mohd Baqir, Block Veterinary Officer, Sankoo, Dr Mohd Ashraf, other concerned heads, beside sarpanch, panch, nambardars and breeders were present on the occasion.

Dr Lone advised breeders (having Karakul breed) to look after the breed in order to increase its population in the district. He said the department is committed to increasing livestock and is providing the best quality feed and fodder to beneficiaries.

The resource person from allied department highlighted the schemes of the department such as Rarzi Barzi, Livestock Insurance, Pashmina Karakul Units, rearing of livestock and wool process.

The department awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in different categories of livestock. In addition to this, 36 consolation prizes were also awarded. The PRIs thanked the department for its efforts and requested to conduct more such camps in the future also.
