Cop nabbed on graft charge in Faridabad

A team of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a head constable of the local police while taking a bribe of Rs 3,000.

The cop was identified as Anil Kumar posted at the Sector 8 police station here.

He had allegedly demanded money from a resident for allowing him to lay an Internet cable in a locality here.

It is alleged that while the accused had demanded Rs 12,000, he had already taken Rs 9,000 in the first instalment. The complainant was due to hand over the second instalment of Rs 3,000 to him on Tuesday.

The ACB laid a trap after the victim lodged a complaint and managed to arrest the accused red-handed.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been booked against the policeman.
