The Cooperative Department of District Reasi organized a grand district-level event to mark the 71st All India Cooperative Week under the theme, “Cooperatives for Women, Youth, and Weaker Sections.”
Held in the Auditorium of the DC Office Complex, the event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, as Chief Guest, with ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal as Special Guest.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner praised the initiatives of the Cooperative Department and urged Cooperatives to harness the district’s tourism potential by offering home-stay facilities and promoting local products at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and Shri Shiv Khori Shrine. He urged cooperatives to work collectively and avail all the benefits for them. He emphasized the pivotal role cooperatives play in empowering communities and driving the vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat).
The program featured cultural performances by school students, speeches by cooperative members, and distribution of registration certificates among newly registered tourism cooperatives. Awards were also presented to institutions for their outstanding contributions to the cooperative movement. ADDC Sukhdev Samyal also encouraged all by giving examples of large cooperative working in India.
Earlier, the event commenced with a welcome address by the Deputy Registrar Bhawani Attri. She gave a brief about various cooperative societies working in District Reasi.
The event was attended by the District Officers and representatives from Jyotipuram and Pouni Bharakh Cooperative Marketing Societies, along with members of various cooperatives, former PRIs, and other dignitaries.
