In the Mahapragya Hall of the university, every member of Desh Bhagat University gathered to witness this significant event at the revered Lord Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The ceremony marked a flag-bearing moment for the country’s identity and culture.
Congratulating everyone, Dr. Zora Singh, the Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, emphasized that the prestige of Lord Ram goes beyond the confines of a temple idol. It signifies a ceremony showcasing the identity and culture of the nation. He urged everyone to draw inspiration from the life of Shri Ram Ji, embodying sacrifice and harmony.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur expressed that with the celebration of Ramotsav, the university is immersed in the devotional stream of Ram Naam Dhara. She envisioned the beginning of Ram Rajya at DBU, where students can attain greater heights by imbibing the ideals and dignity of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram.
President Dr. Sandeep Singh expressed happiness, noting that this occasion signifies not just a celebration but a maturing moment for Indian society, witnessed by the world’s history.
Advisor to the Chancellor, Dr. Virender Singh, highlighted the teachings of Lord Ram, emphasizing the importance of not occupying land and moving towards saving humanity. He envisioned the Ram Rajya within the university based on these ideals.
The program commenced with Havan Yajna and the recitation of Shloka Mantra at the Chancellor’s Secretariat, echoing the campus with enthusiastic chants of Jai Shri Ram. A Bhajan program in Mahapragya Hall followed, honoring guests with saplings and lighting lamps by university officials.
Dr. Anil Joshi, a Professor of Ayurvedic College, emphasized the historical significance of the event, considering it a renaissance of India’s Vedic Sanatan culture. He stated that the awakening of Sanatan culture is for the welfare of the entire world, representing a Vedic way of living.
The program featured Bhajan performances, hymn recitations, and a dance presentation by students, showcasing the spirit of the celebration. A live telecast of the Ram temple from Ayodhya and Brahm Bhoj for 11 Brahmins were part of the festivities.
In his address, Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadawarti encouraged students to learn problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making from the ideals of Maryada Purushottam Ram. He acknowledged the inclusive atmosphere at DBU, crediting it to the Chancellor’s vision.
The stage was conducted by Dr. Renu Sharma, adding to the vibrancy of the event that marked a significant day in the cultural and spiritual calendar of Desh Bhagat University.
