Srinagar, May 14: Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) has held the Congress and the National Conference (NC) morally responsible for the Kashmir issue, emphasizing that it was initiated by Jawaharlal Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah.
AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi asserted that the NC leadership must persuade the Congress and the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDI Alliance) to support peace efforts rather than create obstacles.
Inam Un Nabi stated, “Where there is a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, there is peace. It is regrettable that Congress and other opposition parties have chosen confrontation over dialogue, fanning the flames of conflict instead of encouraging peaceful negotiations. Political parties must view the Jammu and Kashmir issue from a humanitarian perspective rather than seeking political gains.”
The AIP Chief spokesperson Inam Un Nabi stressed that the Congress, having initiated the Kashmir issue, must advocate for dialogue instead of opposing it for political mileage. He called on the NC and PDP to guide their INDI alliance leadership to support peace talks, ensuring dignified and lasting peace in Kashmir.
Inam Un Nabi appealed to the people of India to encourage dialogue between the Indian and Pakistani governments, emphasizing that “permanent peace can only be established through dialogue. There is no other viable solution to the conflict.”
Inam Un Nabi also lauded General Naravane’s recent statement, where the General asserted that “waging war is not a Bollywood film” and highlighted the grim realities faced by people living in conflict zones. Inam Un Nabi remarked, “Those who glorify war should take a lesson from this statement. Only those who endure nights in bunkers and looted homes understand the true cost of conflict.”
