The Deputy Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) have asked the Commissioner SMC to revoke the public notice where he has asked public to remove “illegal encroachments” along the Doodh Ganga Nallah from Allochi Bagh to Chattabal within seven days.

Dy Mayor Parvaiz Qadri, while addressing a press conference at his office on Wednesday said that the people residing on Doodh Ganga Nallah are in panic and are visiting SMC for revocation of this public notice as early as possible by the Commissioner.
The Dy Mayor has asked the commissioner SMC to assure the residents that not a single residential colony, including slum structures, would be disturbed or affected by this project.

People of Srinagar are blazed with Srinagar Municipal Corporation that Srinagar City has been converted into the hazards manner besides that SMC has no role in Srinagar Smart City, he said, adding that the LG Administration and Chairman SSCL shall direct all the concerned agency to work in double shift and all the projects shall be complete by or before April-2023 because G20 delegation from all over the world are visiting the Srinagar in the month of May- 2023.
The Commissioner, SMC is framing policies , works plans without on boarding the Elected Body and Executive Committee concurrence which is gross violation of section 40 & Section 159 clause (c) of J&K Municipal Corporation Act-2000 besides the Executive Committee has expired on June-2022 and no fresh election has made so far, said the Dy Mayor.
Dy mayor said “I don’t understand why SMC Mayor has hijacked the corporation for his own benefits, why re-elections for the standing committees which have expired are not being conducted since more than a year”. He is not even holding the session of the general council

The Mayor and Commissioner SMC are misleading the Lt Governor led administration regarding the works as well as plans of the corporation as all the works related to development of the city by Srinagar Municipal Corporation are against the laws of the Corporation.
