Commissioner State Taxes, Dr Rashmi Singh, today inaugurated database for Recovery Wing of Kashmir division.
Pertinently, the database has been developed by a team of officials led by Shakeel Maqbool Yatoo, Additional Commissioner State Taxes, Kashmir division.
The initiative is aimed at digitising and safeguarding legacy data of previous tax regimes related to tax defaulters besides enhancing government revenue as a result.
Speaking about the database facility, Yatoo said that it was developed at zero cost by his team in a short span of time. The facility, if outsourced, would have put unnecessary financial burden on government exchequer besides being time consuming. He added that the database will safeguard the data related to recovery certificates and also ease the whole process of its issuance.
He concluded that such facilities are developed to save any possible loss to the government exchequer and to contribute to the overall infrastructure of e-governance in the department.
