Cold wave hits Kashmir, Srinagar records another coldest night of season

MeT predicts light rains, snowfall at isolated higher reaches from today. There is a possibility of light rains and snowfall at isolated higher reaches of Kashmir from December 12-15. However, no major activity is expected during the period in Jammu & Kashmir Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 4.8 degree Celsius.
The sub-zero temperature has been recorded across all the stations while Qazigund, the gateway of Kashmir, also recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 3.4 degree Celsius.
Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort, has recorded a low of minus 3.6 degree Celsius while Pahalgam, a famous tourist place, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.7 degree Celsius.
In Kupwara, the mercury settled at minus 4.0 degree Celsius while in Kokernag, a minimum temperature of minus 2.4 degree Celsius was recorded.
Meanwhile, amid the sharp decline in the minimum temperatures, the weatherman here has predicted light rain and snowfall at isolated higher reaches from Tuesday.
