West Bengal CID on Sunday took over the charge of the investigation into the Howrah Ram Navami clash. The state government transferred the charge of the probe to the state police, the CID said on Saturday night.
A police source claimed the probe will be led by one IGP-level officer of the criminal investigation department.
A team from CID headquarters headed by senior officers will visit the place of occurrence on Sunday to probe the case. West Bengal forensic department has already visited the spot and collected samples for examination.
