Chugh demands immediate compensation for farmers and marooned SC/ST families

BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has demanded the Punjab government to immediately release the relief grants for people hit by the flash floods in the state.

He said lakhs of people have become shelterless and needed immediate financial assistance.

Special grants should be given to SC/ST people whose ” kachha” houses have collapsed due to heavy rains and floods.

Welcoming Prime Minister Narndra Modi’s grant of Rs 218 crores to Punjab, Chugh demanded the state government to disburse the relief money immediately to the affected families in punjab.

Chugh also demanded relief for farmers whose crops on lakhs of acres of land have been completely damaged. Special girdawari must be ordered for the purpose to compensate farmers for their losses of crops and cattle.

Chugh strongly condemned the Bhagwant Mann government for its dismal failure to cope with the crisis situation inspite of the fact that the met department had given prior warning about heavy rains.  He said the state government failed to make necessary preparations to meet the situation following which lakhs of people are marooned and are praying for their life.
