Arun Kumar Sinha, the Director of the Special Protection Group (SPG), died on Wednesday at a private hospital in Haryana’s Gurugram.
He was serving as the SPG chief since 2016 and was in charge of the security of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former prime ministers.
The 61-year-old officer was undergoing treatment for liver-related diseases in the past few months. Sinha was a 1987 batch Kerala cadre IPS Officer. He was recently given an extension in service.
