Chandrayaan-3 moon images: On Sunday, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft’s first images of the moon were released by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The sequence of images, which were taken when Chandrayaan-3 flew around the Moon, revealed the Moon’s cratered surface from a variety of perspectives. Chandrayaan-3 has successfully completed many Earth orbits since its launch on July 14 and is now on its way to the moon in a translunar orbit.
The spacecraft successfully completed a planned orbit lowering manoeuvre, according to a tweet from ISRO. It is presently 170 km x 4313 km from the moon’s surface thanks to the engine upgrades. On August 9, 2023, between 13:00 and 14:00 IST, the next procedure to further shrink the orbit will take place.
Chandrayaan-3 will orbit the moon during the coming weeks and slow down in order to prepare for a smooth landing on Earth’s only natural satellite. This will go on until it reaches a 100-kilometer circular orbit. The lander and rover will make their way to the surface once they are separated from the propulsion module.
India will be the fourth nation after the United States, the former Soviet Union, and China to successfully complete a lunar soft landing mission.
