India have an opportunity to whitewash New Zealand 3-0 when they face the struggling visitors in the 3rd and final ODI of the series, which will be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Tuesday, January 24. India have already sealed an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series, but if the hosts need any extra motivation, they have one. India will become the No. 1 side in ODI cricket if they manage to win the series finale, dethroning world champions England. Already the No. 1 side in T20I cricket, India will be hoping to complete the white-ball double on Tuesday.
India will look to iron out a few issues before the T20I series against the BlackCaps. With head coach Rahul Dravid stressing the importance of each and every ODI in the lead-up to the World Cup, India are unlikely to make wholesale changes in the dead rubber.
CAN ROHIT AND KOHLI FIRE?
The focus will be on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as the two big guns will be hoping to fire before they take a break from the T20I series. Both the batting stars will not play competitive cricket in the lead-up to the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy and doing well in Indore will be a big boost in confidence.
