CEC meeting remains inconclusive , Screening Committee to fly back Srinagar

JKPCC likely to submit list of Probables afresh

Srinagar, Aug 24: Even as the last date of filing nominations for the first phase is approaching fast, Congress is engaged in intense huddle to pick up candidates for the constituencies it would be fighting in J&K.

RNA News has learnt from Sources that the Congress Election Committee ( CEC) which met yesterday evening in New Delhi remained inconclusive as consensus eluded on some names owing to their less chances of success.

A senior leader of the party told RNA that, the screening committee will reach Srinagar today following which another round of Screening would take place.

Sources confirmed to RNA that names of some Probables submitted by the former JKPCC President were likely to be dropped and a new list of Probables would be prepared under the guidance of JKPCC incumbent President Tariq Hameed Karra.

If sources are to be believed, a fresh list of Probables would be finalised in today’s meeting and sent back to Party High command by late afternoon. According to Sources, the first list of candidates was likely to be released by this evening.
