CEC Feroz Khan attends concluding ceremony of Batalik War Heroes Archery Tournament at Silmo

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today attended the concluding ceremony of Batalik War Heroes Archery Tournament, 2023 at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Silmo. On the concluding day of the tournament, Indus Batalik defeated Gargardu A to lift the trophy of the tournament.

Addressing the gathering, the CEC congratulated the organizers and the participating team for the successful conduct and completion of the tournament.

While expressing his views on the preservation of culture, Khan said modern and traditional archery should go parallel to keep a balance between cultural ethos and excelling in sports.

Regarding the demand of archery equipment, the CEC said the equipment will be procured under Subsidy Component and equipment purchased last year will be used for the training of students at school level. He also said that Ice Hockey equipment will be purchased in the forthcoming financial year in view of the huge demand.

Khan advised the villagers to prioritize education adding that a major change has been witnessed in the constituency and the Higher Secondary School, Silmo is an example. The school is considered one of the best schools in the district.

The CEC said that various developmental works have been achieved in the last four years and expressed happiness that the area has been sufficiently electrified.

Khan asked the organizers of the tournament to send a proposal so that in future the archery tournament can be organized at a larger scale at the constituency level.

Naib Sarpanch, Ghulam Mehdi thanked the CEC for timely ground clearance of the school premises due to which the tournament was smoothly conducted. He also thanked for the better electricity to the constituency throughout the year.

Later, the CEC along with the dignitaries felicitated the winner and runner-up teams with trophies and souvenirs. Officer Incharge 55 RCC BRO Ramesh, Sarpanch Ghulam Raza, public representatives, sports enthusiasts and villagers were present on the occasion.
