Srinagar: A revenue official in the Kathua district was detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation for requesting and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
According to a statement, the CBI filed a case against an accused Patwari on Wednesday on the grounds that he allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant in order to certify a mutation regarding land that the complainant had purchased.
According to the statement, the CBI set up a trap and apprehended accused Patwari while he demanded and accepted the complainant’s bribe.
After the accused was brought before the court on Thursday, he was placed under 12-day judicial custody remand. Additionally, the CBI searched the accused’s residence.
