Om Raut’s Adipurush has faced controversies since its release last month. The movie features Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Laxman, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh. Criticisms were directed at the film’s dialogues, costumes, and cartoon-like graphics. Subsequent to its release, sporadic protests occurred, with some objecting to the portrayal of its characters and others claiming it hurt the sentiments of those who grew up watching the Doordarshan show Ramayan.

The filmmakers later released a revised version of Adipurush after modifying some of the dialogues. Manoj Muntashir, the dialogue writer for Adipurush, also issued an unconditional apology following the backlash. In his apology, he acknowledged that Adipurush had offended people’s sentiments.

OMG 2 is directed by Amit Rai and features Akshay Kumar in a role inspired by Lord Shiva. The film also stars Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and Arun Govil, known for his portrayal of Ram in Ramayan. Its release is scheduled for August 11 and will coincide with the release of Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel.

The 2012 film OMG – Oh My God depicted the story of Kanji Lalji Mehta (Paresh Rawal), who files a case against God for the destruction of his shop in an earthquake. Alongside Akshay Kumar, the film also featured Mithun Chakraborty and Govind Namdev.
