National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), along with the Administration of Ladakh, started a six days training program on Information & Communication Technology for capacity building of staff and officials of the departments of PHE, PWD and Mechanical department, Leh and Kargil, starting today.
Commissioner Secretary, Ajeet Sahu inaugurated the training and elaborated on the importance of learning the skills for effective communication, multitasking and the use of various communication tools in order to enhance the productivity of an organization. He stated that having hands-down knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Word, Power Point Presentation, Excel, e-mailing etc. are considered rudimentary in the modern technology driven world.
Sahu also highlighted the important attributes to consider while preparing Minutes of Meeting, DO letters, project presentations, etc and stated that the right tools must be used to present details of the projects in the most effective manner.
Later, Commissioner Secretary, Sahu visited the Science Technology & Innovation Hub (STI) where Director NIELIT, Ladakh apprised him of projects underway at NIELIT.
NIELIT, Leh has trained more than 8000 candidates/employees in various short term courses, implemented 120 smart classrooms in Leh and Kargil, developed the District SSRB portal, trained teachers in e-learning, provided IT Literacy to gazette/non-gazetted officials, amongst many others.
