The ongoing Budget session of Parliament  is set to stretch an extra day till Saturday, as announced by Parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi. The decision comes alongside reports indicating the government’s intention to present a ‘white paper’ analysing the state of the Indian economy pre and post-2014.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi confirmed the extension of the Budget session till Saturday. Initially scheduled to conclude on February 9, the session, which commenced on January 31, will now continue an additional day.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had hinted at the release of a ‘White Paper’ during her interim budget speech. The paper aims to juxtapose the condition of the Indian economy before and after 2014. Sitharaman emphasized the economic progress achieved since, stating, “The crisis of those years has been overcome, and the economy has been put firmly on a high sustainable growth path with all-round development.”
