Bovine smugglers held in Udhampur

The Udhampur police yesterday held two bovine smugglers in the district and rescued cattle from them.

During naka checking duty at naka point Phalata, at about 0530hrs one truck no. Jk14j/9177stopped for checking purpose, during checking 19 bovine animals found loaded in cruel manner. During enquiry the driver of the truck disclosed his identity as Mohd Yaqoob s/o Mohd Sharif r/o railway colony Udhampur and the said driver also fail to produce valid permission to transport the bovine animals. In this regard case FIR no. 58/2024 US 188/IPC 11PCA ACT registered.

Moreover, today at about 0545 hours one truck bearing registration number JK02AN 8175 coming from Jammu towards Udhampur side was signalled to stop at Naka point Tikri and the driver of said vehicle disclosed his name as Mohd Aslam S/o Mohd Hanief R/o rakhi brah Anatnag. During checking of the vehicle it was found loaded with 11 no’s of bovine animals who were tied with ropes in cruel manner. Moreover the driver of the vehicle was not able to provide any permission for taking the bovine animals. On this case FIR no. 59/2024 US 188/ IPC 11 PCA ACT stands registered. under relevant sections have been registered.
