Borders Fully Secure; Will Not Allow Terrorists To Disturb Assembly Polls In J&K: BSF

On September 10, BSF Inspector General D.K. Boora emphasized the implementation of robust counter-infiltration measures along the borders to prevent any terrorist infiltration during the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking in Bhaderwah, Doda district, which, along with six other districts, will vote in the first phase of elections on September 18, Boora assured that the borders are secure. The BSF, in coordination with police and other agencies, is actively working to prevent any disruption by terrorists.

Boora highlighted the BSF’s readiness to handle any situation, particularly in difficult terrains like the Chenab valley, ensuring a smooth and safe election process. While recent terror activities in Doda and Kishtwar were acknowledged, tactical operations are being carried out to sanitize the area. The officer expressed confidence that the elections would proceed without any major incidents. He urged the troops to remain vigilant, especially given the forested terrain that has provided hiding spots for militants in the past.
