Border Welfare Organisation Chairman Avinash Choudhary, along with other members, met with the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and presented the issues of border areas before him.
On this occasion, Rakesh Choudhary President Business Association, Sainik colony, Maskeen Kaur Wazir, Aftab Hussain Shah, Retd Hon Capt Jaswant Singh, Narinder Singh , Hon Caption Sukvir Singh & Ex -servicemen Faqir Singh were present.
Avinash Choudhary informed the Chief Secretary that several years ago, an attempt was made to benefit those villages near the international border which had been affected by unprovoked firing from Pakistan and had endured enemy bullets and shells despite being unarmed, under the International Border Reservation.
However, it is very unfortunate that this reservation could not be implemented at the ground level as per the rules. Avinash said that according to the rules of this reservation, all those villages which were within six kilometers of the international border should have come under this reservation category, but in reality, this did not happen.
Avinash said that on this issue, we had also raised these issues before the state administration and central ministers several times, but so far, no solution has been found. Avinash told the Chief Secretary with deep regret that during the presence of the Union Minister some years ago, during the presence of commissioner Secretary SWD , Mrs. Sheetal Nanda, who was present during the Union Minister’s visit, had assured verbally to exclude the formality related to economic conditions from this reservation, but the result was zero,
Avinash Choudhary, Chairman, Border Welfare Organisation,requested that there are many officers in the Jammu and Kashmir government who deliberately do not allow the proposed schemes of the central government to reach the common people, for which the central government is working continuously and honestly.
Avinash said that it is also necessary to mention here that the insensitivity and laziness of such officers are such that such issues also do not reach an appropriate solution, which are extremely serious and very important for the people. In the near future, there are many types of elections expected in our state and the implementation of the code of conduct is also expected.
In such a situation, only you are the last and only hope of those hundreds of people who did not get justice even after begging a lakh times, nor reservation. On the other hand, Renowned Social activist Parvinder Singh Happy, said to the Chief Secretary that you belong to Jammu and Kashmir state and since you understand the pain of displacement or migration very well, we have full confidence that you, taking strict notice of this burning and serious issue, will soon issue orders to include all those villages in this reservation list, which come under the specified criteria.
Parvinder Singh Happy requested chief secretary for his personal intervention regarding the construction of a sub-district hospital, proposed at sainik colony where in land was purchased by sanik colony society and given written consent to the Heath & medical department for construction of sub district hospital in that land so that all people can avail medical facilities as soon as possible.
After listening to Avinash Choudary & Parvinder Singh , the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir assured them that he would send their issues to the relevant departments and would resolve their problems as soon as possible.
