Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kareena Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Rakesh Roshan, among others, paid tribute to the late actor Rishi Kapoor on what would have been his 71st birthday. They took to Instagram on Monday to share old photographs with Rishi and heartfelt notes.
Neetu Kapoor shared a video collage of Rishi from various films he starred in. Her caption was simple, “In remembrance 🙏.” The video included clips from movies like Mera Naam Joker, Bobby, Karz, Chandni, Kapoor & Sons, and many more. In response to the post, Riddhima, Ekta Kapoor, Saba Ali Khan, and Maniesh Paul posted red heart emojis.
Riddhima remembered her father by posting a collage of childhood photos on her Instagram Stories. The collage featured Riddhima and her brother Ranbir as toddlers, striking stylish poses with Rishi. One of the pictures included Rishi, Neetu, Riddhima, and her daughter Samara. She captioned the post, “Happy Birthday papa ❤️. Miss you a little more today…” Sharing another old photo of herself with her parents, she wrote, “Papa’s carbon copy.”
Kareena Kapoor also shared an old photo as she remembered her uncle Rishi. In the black and white picture, Rishi is seen smiling while looking back. She wrote, “Happy birthday Chintu Uncle…Always in our ❤️. Miss you.”
Sanjay Dutt posted an old picture with Rishi and his son, actor Ranbir Kapoor. They were all holding each other and smiling for the camera. He captioned the post, “Chintu Sir was more than family, he embodied the essence of one of the finest actors and human beings. His infectious laughter, stories, and genuineness knit us together. On his birth anniversary, the void he left is palpable, but the warmth of his memory keeps him alive in our hearts. Miss you, sir.”
Rakesh Roshan shared a throwback picture with Rishi, presumably from a film set. In the candid photo, while Rakesh looked ahead, Rishi was seen with folded hands, gazing at the ground. He wrote, “Chintu miss you, buddy, it’s 4th Sept Celebrate!!!”
Rishi Kapoor passed away at the age of 67 on April 30, 2020, after a two-year battle with leukemia. He had a prolific career, appearing in numerous films, including Bobby, Chandni, Henna, Saagar, Do Dooni Chaar, Agneepath, Amar Akbar Anthony, Kabhi Kabhie, Naseeb, Coolie, Ajooba, Kapoor & Sons, and Mulk, among many others. His last film, Sharmaji Namkeen, was completed with Paresh Rawal stepping in as a replacement, as some portions of the film were left unfinished at the time of his passing.
