Block Diwas: DC Rajouri presides over public outreach camp at Moughla

People are reaping the benefits of Block Diwas also called ‘Youm-e-Block’ initiative which is organized by the UT of Jammu and Kashmir in every district once in a week.
Block Diwas is a part of the ambitious ‘Jan Abhiyan’ program during which Deputy Commissioners and other officers assess the progress of developmental works being executed and listen to public issues, grievances and demands. It also provides the Administration an opportunity to interact directly with people, obtain feedback from them and do on-the-spot Grievance Redressal.
“We are reaping the benefits of Block Diwas being organized in the district”, said one of the Panchayat Raj Institute Members during the public outreach program held at Moughla block. He also highlighted that the issue of lack of doctors at PHC Moughla has been redressed, and the same was raised by the public during Block Diwas at Treru block.
Shri Kasturi Lal also appreciated the efforts of the District Administration in removing the bottlenecks for Development which have been raised in the previous block diwas at Treru.
Continuing the mega public outreach initiative of the Government of UT of Jammu and Kashmir, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a Public Outreach Camp here at Moughla and listened to the issues and development aspirations of public representatives as well as the locals.
Among the issues projected on the occasion were GDC for Moughla, blacktopping of RDD roads, adequate manpower for the education sector, shortage of technical assistants and VLWs, Kendriya Vidyalaya for Moughla etc.
Other issues were provision of 108 Ambulance service for PHC Mougla, buildings for schools and Health institutions, provision of electricity poles, revenue entries of playfields, one community toilet and one hand pump for Dakbunglow at Moughla etc.
Officers of different departments also replied to the queries raised by the public and their representatives during the event. They also highlighted a number of schemes and programs being implemented in the district and motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same.
While highlighting the schemes of the Social Welfare Department, the DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt said that 70000 beneficiaries were getting pension under old guidelines. He also informed that the guidelines of the pension schemes have been revised and urged the beneficiaries and PRIs to ensure registration of beneficiaries through online portals.
The DSWO also imparted awareness among the masses about Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan and urged the public to work in coordination with the District Administration to eradicate drug menace from the society.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that the demands raised shall be fulfilled in a time bound manner.
Addressing the event, the DC said that the Block Diwas ensures doorstep public service delivery and redressal of the genuine grievances of the common man. .
He also listed public initiatives of the District Administration and said “We are working on a multi pronged strategy for the holistic development of all the areas of the district and every sector is being pushed to achieve the desired results on the ground.”
He called for coordination among the departments and PRIs to achieve desired development objectives besides timely intervention and action to mitigate the sufferings of the people. He also urged the public and their representatives to work shoulder to shoulder with administration to take the district to new heights of development.
While responding to the public issues, the DDC said that timely and quality disposal of the issues of the general public is the top priority of the district administration.
Highlighting the progress of the power sector, he informed that 08 new creations and 09 Augmentation projects are being executed in Moughla Block under power sector.
While informing about the status of schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission, the DC said that 26 villages of the block are being covered under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He also said that the protection work worth Rs 35 lacs is being constructed along the Mougha Nallah. He further informed that 7500 specially abled persons of the area have been facilitated in getting the UDIDs.
DC also distributed Age Proof Certificates among beneficiaries for old age pension scheme of Social Welfare Department.
While responding to the demand of construction of a bus stop for Terayth, the DC directed the concerned officer to identify suitable land for the same.
The DC also directed tehsildar to ensure door to door delivery of ration and issued directions for resolving all other issues .
