PM to BJP workers: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the ‘Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Zila Panchayat Members Conference’ in Daman-Diu on Friday, emphasizing the importance of connecting with people on the ‘ground level’ and strengthening the ethics of good governance in order for India to become a developed nation by 2047.
Modi stated that the BJP’s true strength is its workers. “The fundamental strength of the BJP is its worker, and worker is a party post (in the BJP) who always remains with us,” he explained.
PM Modi told the two-day ‘Kshetriya Panchayati Raj Parishad’ that Zila Panchayat members should contribute to district development.
Modi went on to say that Panchayats are the pillars of the country’s democratic system, and that BJP workers should collaborate to solve the concerns of the ordinary man.
The PM also proposed that BJP workers split their workload evenly among themselves, and urged them to stay in touch and coordinate via Whatsapp.
“I would want that all of you create a WhatsApp group and remain in touch with each other. Tell others what (development) is happening in your district and get to know about others too,” Modi said.
Modi emphasised the importance of employing a portion of the MGNREGA money for asset creation, saying, “Previously, the grant was of Rs.70,000 crore, but it is now over Rs.3 lakh crore.” We have constructed about 30,000 Zila Panchayat structures.”
He stated that MNGREGA funding should be used for development purposes, such as establishing a pond, earthwork for a road, or a plantation drive.
The BJP has held three Panchayati Raj Parishad conferences in the previous 15 days. The first Panchayati Raj Council meeting of the BJP was held at Surajkund in Faridabad, Haryana, while the second meeting was place on August 12 in Howrah, West Bengal.
