Leader of Opposition (LoP) and senior BJP leader, Sunil Sharma on Monday expressed disappointment over not being allowed to congratulate Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on his birthday during the Assembly session.
“Sir, I rose from my seat only to congratulate Omar Sahab on his birthday, but I was not allowed to do so,” the LoP said, addressing the Speaker. He further alleged that certain members were deliberately permitted to disrupt the proceedings.
Without naming anyone, he claimed that the treasury benches had instructed a legislator to create disturbances. Criticizing the conduct of the session, the LoP also accused the Chair of favoring the ruling party, claiming that 90 percent of the questions entertained during the proceedings came from treasury bench members.
