Bipasha Basu has made an announcement regarding her daughter’s “daak naam,” a popular pet name among Bengalis. Their daughter, Devi Basu Singh Grover, was born in November, and the couple had shared the news of their pregnancy in August. Bipasha shared a video clip featuring Devi and mentioned that her pet name, “Mishti,” was chosen by her favorite Mumu Ma (Bipasha’s mother). The montage showcased pictures of Bipasha and Devi, with Bipasha dressed in black and Devi in off-white attire. Bipasha’s friends and colleagues showered love on her post, with actor Arti Singh commenting, “Mishtiiii.”
Bipasha’s fans also expressed their affection for the mother-daughter duo. One fan shared a personal connection, having named their own daughter Mishti and feeling a sense of connection with Bipasha as both their children share the same pet name. Another fan called Bipasha a super mommy and praised the cute video.
Bipasha and Karan welcomed their first child, Devi, after six years of marriage, on November 12, 2022. They recently celebrated Devi’s half-birthday with a pink-themed party, sharing pictures on their social media pages.
Bipasha and Karan have previously worked together in the film Alone and the MX Player series Dangerous. Karan has the upcoming film Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, in his pipeline, where he will star alongside Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, and Hrithik Roshan.
