In a tragic incident, an elderly man died while waiting in a queue to submit old age pension form in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday. As per reports, the man while waiting in queue for submitting old age pension form suddenly collapsed at Tehsil Social Welfare Office Bandipora.
He was rushed to district hospital Bandipora, where he was declared brought dead on arrival due to cardiopulmonary arrest.
The deceased was identified as Sonaullah Bhat, 62, of the district’s uphill village of Malangam.
Official sources while confirming the incident said the man died of natural death and his body has been handed over to family after completion of medico-legal formalities by police.
Meanwhile, the death of Sonaullah Bhat created quite a stir with several applicants, particularly elderly pensioners, urging the administration to take immediate measures for simplifying the whole process of submission of pension applications.
