Srinagar, 22 January (Gulistan News TV) : Amid growing complaints about agents allegedly interfering with the functioning of the transport department, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, Transport Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, has urged citizens to utilize the department’s faceless services.

In a post on X, Mahajan expressed his commitment to providing seamless and transparent services, stating, “We are committed to providing seamless services. Use phone/computer to avail these services.” He emphasized the importance of bypassing agents and directly accessing online services offered by the department.

The faceless services include online vehicle registration, license renewal, permits and more, which can be accessed from mobile phones or computers. These initiatives are designed to eliminate the influence of middlemen, ensure transparency and make public services more accessible.

In the post, Mahajan also tagged Minister for Transport J&K, Satish Sharma, highlighting the government’s focus on modernizing public service delivery and addressing corruption.

In his post, Mahajan said, “We are aware of complaints regarding agents hijacking department services. Through this medium, details of our faceless services are provided. Use your phone or computer to avail these services. Together, we can ensure seamless and transparent service delivery.”

The public has largely welcomed this initiative.

The transport department has reiterated its call for public cooperation in reporting any exploitation by agents, assuring strict action against those found guilty. (Gulistan News TV)
