                Authorities make licence necessary for keeping animals in Jammu

Jammu: The authorities in Jammu on Monday has announced that a license will now be mandatory for keeping domestic animals which several locals have been using for various purposes in the district.

According to the report, the people who own horse-drawn carts, horse-drawn wedding carriages and camels have been asked by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to make licence for their animals and if they fail to obtain it from JMC then they will have to pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh.

The JMC officials have apprised owners of these animals to bring Aadhar Card, picture of animal, Fitness certificate of animals to JMC’s office to apply for a licence in their office.

The registration process to apply for a licence will begin soon in this month which will continue to December while the people who will not obtain this licence they will have to pay a fine of Rs 10000 or 1 lakh from January onwards of the next year.

The licence fee for Horse-drawn wedding carriages is Rs 5000, Horse-drawn carts Rs 2500 while licence fee for keeping Horse, pony, mule and camel is Rs 2000.

The JMC has also made mandatory registration of pet dogs by their owners in Jammu. The pet dog registration is ₹5000 while the owners of canines have to bring their Aadhar card, vaccination certificate of dog, identity card and pic of dog or the owners can also apply online with these mentioned documents.
