Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo chaired a meeting to finalise Annual Action Plan of various centrally sponsored schemes in the Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries sectors for financial year 2023-24 at Civil Secretariat today.
The ACS stressed on judicious spending and proactive implementation of the schemes. He said that proper planning before execution is crucial for the success of these ambitious schemes.
He also deliberated upon different ways of employment generation and breed improvement in the animals and sheep husbandry sectors.
Refresher training for eligible candidates and local youth in artificial insemination were discussed by the officers. It was emphasised that standard practices and trained practitioners are needed for the animal and sheep husbandry sectors.
Prominently, the discussion was held on action plan for schemes like Assistance to States for Control of Animal Diseases (ASCAD), National Livestock Mission (NLM), Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM), National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) besides few others.
The meeting was attended by Secretary in Agriculture, Shabnam Kamili; Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Shubhra Sharma, Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu, Krishan Lal among others. Officers from Kashmir participated in the meeting through video conference.
