Assembly Elections-2024: ADDC Samba convenes meeting with Political Parties

In preparation for the upcoming Legislative Assembly Elections in Jammu & Kashmir, a meeting on the direction of District Election Officer Samba, Rajesh Sharma was held today under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Champa Devi at Meeting Hall of the DC Office, Nandini Hills, Samba.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Jagdish Singh, Dy. DEO, GM DIC, AR Cooperative Addl Charge DIO Samba, District Treasury Officer and Accounts Officer.
During the meeting, the importance of strict adherence to the MCC by all political parties and candidates was emphasized. Officials highlighted the necessity of upholding a peaceful electoral environment and encouraged all parties to engage in ethical campaigning practices. The use of campaign materials, such as flags and banners, was discussed in detail, with specific guidelines on their appropriate use and the timing for their installation and removal.
Attendees were also briefed on the comprehensive measures being put in place to ensure the transparency and efficiency of the electoral process. These measures include stringent monitoring of campaign expenditures and the use of advanced technological tools like cVIGIL, Suvidha and NCORE, which are provided by the Election Commission of India to enhance real-time monitoring and facilitate swift action in case of any violations.
Concerns raised by the political party representatives were addressed during the meeting, with officials assuring them that their suggestions would be taken into consideration. The discussion underscored the administration’s commitment to providing a level playing field for all candidates, ensuring that the elections are conducted smoothly and without bias. The need for coordinated efforts among various departments was also highlighted, particularly in effectively monitoring and enforcing the MCC.
The meeting concluded with a strong consensus on the importance of maintaining the highest standards of electoral conduct. All participants reaffirmed their commitment to working together to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process in the district.
