The Indian Army today proudly felicitated Master Sheikh Mohammad Ibrahim, a student of the Nirala Army Goodwill School, Margund for his exceptional achievement in winning the prestigious 5th Pencak Silat World Championship held in Abu Dhabi from 18-22 December 2024.
This remarkable accomplishment has brought immense pride not only to the school and the Army but also to the entire nation.
The felicitation ceremony was organized at HQ Manasbal Sector where Brigadier Vipul Tyagi , Commander Manasbal Sector felicitated Master Sheikh Mohammad Ibrahim(Gold Medalist) and Mr Tanveer Ahmed – Coach and Sports teacher at Nirala Army Goodwill School, Margund.
Sheikh Mohammad Ibrahim , through dedication and perseverance, emerged victorious in 48- 52 kg weight category , showcasing extraordinary talent and sportsmanship on the global stage.
Addressing the gathering, Brigadier Vipul Tyagi , Commander Manasbal Sector, commended Master Sheikh Mohammad Ibrahim for the hard work and determination that led to this remarkable feat. “His talent , perseverance and hardwork has earned him this remarkable feat and also reflects the high standards of education and opportunities provided at Army Goodwill Schools, which continue to empower students to excel in all fields.”
The student and coach were presented with a sports hamper during the ceremony.
In his address, Master Sheikh Mohammad Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the Wussan Battalion of the Indian Army, teachers, and family for their unwavering support and guidance.
This achievement is yet another testimony to the Army’s commitment to nurturing young talent and encouraging excellence.
