Apple aims to introduce a more user-friendly method for transferring data from an iPhone to a non-Apple phone. However, this change would come into effect in 2025.

Currently, this process can be cumbersome and time-consuming, particularly when switching from an iPhone to an Android device. This initiative seeks to simplify and streamline data transfer, making it easier for users to transition between different smartphone ecosystems, as per the DMA compliance report shared by Apple.

As per the Digital Markets act, Apple will also introduce a solution that allows users to transfer data between different browsers on the same device. This feature is anticipated to be available by late 2024 or early 2025.

It aims to offer users more flexibility and control over their browsing experience.Users in the EU will have the ability to change their default navigation app on iOS. This move enables users to select their preferred navigation app instead of being restricted to Apple’s default option.

Notably, Google’s has a “Switch to Android” app, which helps transfer data from iPhones to Android phones, including contacts, photos, and texts. However, it doesn’t transfer paid apps, Safari bookmarks, alarms, and some files.

Apple is developing a solution to address these gaps, making data transfer smoother. This could mean easier transitions for users switching between iPhone and Android devices.
