According to the Wall Street Journal, a document and sources reveal that Apple Inc has implemented limitations on the usage of external artificial intelligence tools, including ChatGPT, among its employees. This decision comes as Apple focuses on developing its own comparable technology.

According to the report, Apple’s concerns regarding the potential leakage of confidential data by employees who utilize AI programs have led the company to advise against the use of GitHub’s Copilot, owned by Microsoft. OpenAI, the organization behind ChatGPT, recently introduced an “incognito mode” for ChatGPT, which ensures that users’ conversation history is not saved or utilized to enhance the AI.

The scrutiny surrounding the management of users’ data by ChatGPT and similar chatbots has been increasing, as the data is commonly used for AI training purposes. OpenAI also launched the ChatGPT app for Apple’s iOS in the United States, although neither Apple, OpenAI, nor Microsoft responded to Reuters’ request for comment.
