Apple cuts iPhone prices in India

Apple has cut the prices of iPhones in India. Following a reduction in import duties on components to 15 per cent from 20 per cent, announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Apple has slashed the prices of made-in-India iPhones by 3-4 per cent. While Apple has yet to officially announce this or reflect the new prices on its India website, India Today Tech has learnt that iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 14, iPhone 13 and iPhone SE prices in India are being slashed by Rs 300 for some models and up to Rs 6,000 for others. Notably, this is the first time that Apple has reduced the price of the current Pro models in the Indian market.

Meanwhile, Apple is also planning to manufacture iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models in India for the first time, according to a report by Moneycontrol. Currently, Apple only manufactures the iPhone 15, iPhone 14, iPhone 13 and iPhone SE in India. The tech giant doesn’t manufacture the Pro models in India right now. In 2023, Apple sold India-built iPhone 15 units on the very first day of global sales. Initially, only the base models of the iPhone 15 were manufactured in India, but eventually local production of the iPhone 15 Plus also began, which was managed by Pegatron. With the price cut in place, which should soon start being reflected on the Apple India website and for other online and offline retailers, iPhones that are manufactured in India, which include the iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15, will see a price cut of around Rs 300, whereas the iPhone SE will be cheaper by Rs 2,300. Meanwhile, the Pro and Pro Max models will see a price cut between Rs 5,100 to Rs 6,000. This means that the iPhone SE, which previously retailed at Rs 49,900, now has a new price of Rs 49,600. The iPhone 13 has seen a reduction from Rs 59,900 to Rs 57,600, providing a decrease of Rs 2,300. Moving up the lineup, the iPhone 14, originally priced at Rs 69,900, is now available for Rs 69,600, marking a Rs 300 reduction. The iPhone 14 Plus also follows this trend with its price dropping from Rs 79,900 to Rs 79,600, again showing a Rs 300 decrease.

The newly launched iPhone 15 series has also seen a price adjustment. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, both initially priced at Rs 79,900 and Rs 89,900 respectively, are now priced at Rs 79,600 and Rs 89,600. This small adjustment of Rs 300 for each model can make a difference for potential buyers considering the latest iPhone models. For those interested in the higher-end models, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have also seen price reductions. The iPhone 15 Pro, which was earlier priced at Rs 1,34,900, is now available for Rs 1,29,800, showing a more significant decrease of Rs 5,100. The iPhone 15 Pro Max has dropped from Rs 1,59,900 to Rs 1,54,000, reflecting a reduction of Rs 5,900.
