AMU will Punish those found guilty in harassment of JK Students: J&K Students Association

Aligarh: J&K Students Association here today said that Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will take strict action in the case related to beating of a Kashmiri research scholar at the university. Association in a statement, after series of meeting with Aligarh Muslim University, Civil and Police Administration, Informed that strict action will be taken against students found guilty of violence, bullying and troublemaking.
AMU Registrar Mohammad Imran besides all and police officials assured that JK Students are our own and their safety and security is our utmost priority. They assured that culprits would soon met their fate, that they deserve. Registrar assured them all support to enure the safety and security of J&K students and exemplary punishment to those involved in the recent attack on Kashmiri students.
A Nodal officer was appointed also who would take care of the avoiding any such incident in future. The Nodal officer would assure the safety and security of students. Furthermore, a fact finding committee would has been constituted to look into the recent Attacks on the Kashmiri students. The committee will ascertain the facts and probe who was involved in the recent intimidation and harassment of Kashmiri students, association. This committee would deeply analyze the case and therefore, would be accordingly translated into an action.
The Registrar AMU while speaking to National Convener of Association Nasir Khuehami said “restoring peace and tranquility is our common objective. Preventing and defusing acts of violence is our top priority. We have constituted the inquiry committee on both incidents that happened in hostel as well as at Centaury Gate. The action will be taken as per the report that would be submitted by committee. The law enforcement authorities have been conveyed that any student having weapons is a criminal offense and they have started searches for them. We understand that physical assaults not only harm the victims, but also negatively impact their physical and psychological health; we assure that an effective time bound enquiry to ascertain the facts and circumstances will be taken to investigate the act of violence, registrar added.
Meanwhile, Khuehami has reiterated his appeal to the students for maintaining peace and brotherhood in the University. Foiling attempts of anti-social elements unitedly by the students belonging to various segments of the society is need of the hour,” he said
