Gunman of Amritpal singh used fake documents to renew his gun license, SSP Kishtwar said on Thursday.
A senior police officer told Kashmir Scroll that a gun license was issued in the name of Virendra Singh in 2014
He said that Gunman of Amritpal Singh, Virendra Singh’s license was cancelled after Punjab police wrote to Kishtwar Administration.
He said that Singh had used fake documents to renew the license and it was found that a gun license was misused.
He said that accomplice of Amritpal Singh “Warris Punjab De” namely Varinder Singh had got issued Gun License from DM Office Kishtwar in the year -2014 as Army Personnel later head terminated from Army.
Said Licence has been cancelled by DM Kishtwar and in this regard case FIR N0 52/2023 U/S 465/471/474 IPC and 3/25/30 IA ACT has been registered at P/S kishtwar against Varinder Singh and further investigation taken up, the officer added.
