Amitabh Bachchan, who regularly shares insights from his personal and professional life on Kaun Banega Crorepati, recently discussed his experience of working with his son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai on the song “Kajra Re.” As the host of the show’s 15th season, Amitabh returned to the screen. In the latest episode, a contestant asked him about Mirza Ghalib, leading Amitabh to reminisce about Aishwarya.
During the episode, after a question related to Ballimaran, Amitabh remarked, “All three of us were in it. At that time, Aishwarya wasn’t our daughter-in-law, but she is now. She was a daughter-in-law in the song. We were present along with Abhishek. The song had lyrics about Ballimaran.” Amitabh then asked the show’s crew to play the song “Kajra Re” on screen.
“Kajra Re,” directed by Shaad Ali, featured Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, and Aishwarya dancing together for the first time. The song was part of the film “Bunty Aur Babli,” which starred the father-son duo alongside Rani Mukerji. Released in 2005, “Kajra Re” became a highlight of the movie and gained even more popularity when news of Abhishek and Aishwarya’s wedding surfaced.
Abhishek and Aishwarya tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in a private ceremony. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Aaradhya, on November 16, 2011.
While Aishwarya’s most recent appearance was in Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2,” she has yet to announce her next project. Abhishek’s latest venture is R Balki’s “Ghoomer,” released on August 18. The sports drama features Shabana Azmi, Saiyami Kher, and Angad Bedi, and tells the inspiring story of a paraplegic sportsperson (played by Saiyami Kher) excelling as a cricketer under the guidance of her coach (played by Abhishek).
As for Amitabh, he is set to appear in “Kalki 2898 AD” alongside Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.
