Allu Arjun says stampede was unfortunate, ‘not in my control’ after leaving jail

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun said he respects the law and pledged full cooperation with authorities following his release from jail on Saturday in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede case.

Allu Arjun addressed the media and his fans gathered outside his Jubilee Hills home soon after walking out of a Hyderabad jail, where he spent the night following his arrest a day before.Thanking his fans for their unwavering support during the ordeal, the 41-year-old star admitted it had been a difficult time for him and his loved ones. He also expressed regret over the stampede in which a women lost her life terming it an “unintentional” accident.

“For the past 20 years, I have been going to theatres to watch movies, including those of my uncles. This has always been a joyful experience, but this time, things took an unexpected turn,” Allu Arjun explained.

“I would like to once again express my condolences to the family. It was an unfortunate incident. We are sorry for what happened, which was totally out of our control,” he added.
