Police on Thursday said that it has made all the necessary arrangements for peaceful and smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra.
Talking to news agency, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, Vidhi Kumar Birdi said that all the arrangements have been made for peaceful and smooth conduct of Yatra 2024.
“We are satisfied that arrangements are up to the mark. We will ensure that we will be able to manage Yatra peacefully,” he said.
He said that whatever arrangements were required have been done as police along with CRPF and Traffic officials have been deployed. He underscored that the safety of the Yatri’s was paramount and that comprehensive measures are in place to mitigate any risk.
Notably IGP Kashmir had already urged all officers to remain vigilant and proactive in their duties, emphasising the importance of coordination and timely response to any potential threat.
The 52-day-long pilgrimage to the holy cave of Amarnath in the mountainous region of south Kashmir’ Pahalgam is set to commence from Jammu tomorrow.
