AJKPC Organizes One Day Panchayat Convention in Banihal

AJKPC Demands Inclusion of Left Out Families in PMAY Scheme All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference(AJKPC), a registered organization working for strengthening the democracy institutions of J & K today organized a Panchayat convention in Banihal town of district Ramban wherein a large number of elected Panches and Sarpanches of the district Ramban attended the convention presided by Anil Sharma, the president of the organization. The participants put fort their valuable suggestions to intensify struggle of PRIs to make this institutions more vibrant and autonomous.

During the program, the local PRI members asked the AJKPC President to take up the issue of including left out but deserving families of district Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna(PMAY) Scheme. The PRIs said due to the negligence of the local officers of the revenue department many deserving people could not be included in the PMAY list and now this portal is being closed which is nothing short of injustice. The issue of bifurcation of ration cards was also discussed and irregular supply of ration through PDS was also discussed.

AJKPC President assured the participants that all their genuine grievances would be taken with the government through concerned officers and departments for redressal. He also urged the National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) to ensure that local people are provided jobs in all the projects funded by NHAI.

The issue of delimitation and rationalization of voters of Panchayts before the elections was also deliberated. The AJKPC also reiterated its demand of extending the term of existing Panchayats till 2025.
