Air Canada Faces Backlash After Passengers Refuse Vomit-Soiled Seats

Air Canada, the largest airline in Canada, recently gained negative attention due to an incident involving one of its pilots on a flight from Las Vegas to Montreal. The pilot warned two passengers that they might be added to a no-fly list after they refused to sit in seats that were soiled with vomit.

One of the passengers, Susan Benson, reported that it initially wasn’t clear what the issue was, as there was a noticeable foul odor in the area. When they complained, the airline staff attempted to mask the odor with perfume and coffee grounds, but the seats and seatbelts were still wet and had visible vomit residue, as described in a social media post by Benson.

While the flight attendant was apologetic, the pilot later informed passengers that they could leave the plane and arrange their own flights, at their own expense. Additionally, a warning was issued that they might be placed on a no-fly list. Security later escorted the passengers off the aircraft.

Benson expressed her disappointment and stated that this incident made her feel ashamed to be a Canadian and ashamed of Air Canada.

The airline has since issued an apology and stated that they are reviewing the matter seriously. They acknowledged that the passengers did not receive the expected standard of care to which they were entitled.
