Agra police recovers abducted kid in just 32 hours from Mathura

Agra Police on Friday recovered an abducted child within 32 hours of being kidnapped from Mathura. The child, identified as Mayank, was kidnapped while playing outside his home in the Shahganj area of the city.

Acting quickly, the police identified the kidnapper by circulating his pictures captured on CCTV cameras on social media. Within a few hours, the identity of the kidnapper was revealed by his own relatives living in the Shahganj area, where he was staying.Subsequent interrogation revealed that the child had been taken to Vrindavan and was to be sold soon. A police team was sent to Vrindavan, where the kid was recovered and handed over to his uncle.

Mayank’s father, Jaiprakash, said that they live in the Satyam Nagar area of Shahganj in Agra. On Tuesday, most of the family members were away attending a wedding. Mayank was playing outside the gate of the house, when the accused, who has now been identified as Mohsim, kidnapped him. When they couldn’t find Mayank anywhere, they complained to the police and upon checking the CCTV cameras in the area, Mohsim was seen carrying Mayank in his arms and taking him away.

SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary informed that as soon as the report of the kid’s abduction was filed, eight teams consisting of about 100 police personnel and 50 locals were formed to track down his whereabouts.
