After 97 days, India records more than 300 fresh COVID-19 cases

After a gap of 97 days, India reported over 300 new coronavirus cases, with the active cases increasing to 2,686, according to the latest data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday. The country saw a daily increase of 334 new cases, bringing the total number of infections to 4.46 crore (4,46,87,496). Additionally, the death toll rose to 5,30,775, with three new fatalities, including two reported by Maharashtra in the last 24 hours, and one reconciled by Kerala.

According to the health ministry website, the active cases now account for 0.00 percent of the total cases, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.80 percent.

The number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 has increased to 4,41,54,035, while the case fatality rate remains at 1.19 per cent.

According to the ministry, 220.63 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.
