Administrative Secretary Agriculture & Horticulture along with Chief Agriculture Officer Thinles Dawa visited button mushroom unit of an entrepreneur at Phyang, Leh.
The Entrepreneur Rinchen Angchok Mama demonstrated advanced techniques, which maximize productivity while minimizing environmental impact. Button mushrooms are to be harvested when the CAP size is 30-45 mm in diameter, whereas Oyster mushroom is harvested when the fruiting body becomes curled under edges and well-formed gills, he added.
Impressed by the innovative methods employed at the Entrepreneur Mushroom Unit, Administrative Secretary Agriculture & Horticulture Ravinder Kumar commended the dedication of the team of the unit for sustainable farming practices and their contribution to the agricultural sector. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in addressing food security and promoting self-sufficiency in the region.
