Adipurush Enters ₹300 Crore Club Globally Amidst Criticism

Adipurush has surpassed the ₹300 crore mark globally, despite facing criticism. According to the film’s team, it has grossed ₹340 crore at the global box office. Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, is a modern retelling of the mythological epic Ramayana.

The movie was released last week in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil languages. Actress Kriti Sanon shared a poster of the film on Instagram, announcing its worldwide three-day box office gross of ₹340 crore. She captioned it with “Jai Shri Ram” (Hail Lord Ram) and the hashtag #Adipurush.

As per early estimates from Sacnilk.com, the Hindi version of Adipurush collected ₹38.5 crore. The total three-day collections across all languages reached approximately ₹216 crore, with around ₹64 crore on the third day.

Adipurush features Prabhas as Raghav (Ram), Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Sita), and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Raavan). It is produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. The film has faced criticism for its colloquial language, including certain dialogues such as ‘marega bete’ (your son will die), ‘bua ka bagicha hain kya’ (do you own your aunt’s garden), and ‘jalegi tere baap ki’ (your father will burn). The makers have acknowledged the feedback and are revisiting these dialogues to align with the film’s core essence and the sentiments of the audience.

In a statement, T-Series emphasized their commitment to respecting audience sentiments and harmony, despite the film’s successful box office performance. They assured that the revised dialogues will be reflected in the theaters in the coming days.
